The second Vancouver Shipping Lunch of 2019 was held on June 6 at the Terminal City Club. It turned out to be a very successful event, attracting a diverse crowd with different shipping backgrounds. This time, the organizer, Vancouver ShipInvest and Management Ltd., invited Captain Mark Turner from LNG Canada and Mr. Dimitris Bouras from Metis Cybertechnology to be the lunch speakers. Obviously, the topic and speakers received a lot of interest from the local shipping community.
It is our pleasure to invite Captain Mark Turner, LNG Canada, to talk about the $40 billion Canada LNG project’s influence to our local shipping industry. Captain Turner’s career path is focused and primarily dedicated to the management, direction and overview of oil and gas, and marine related projects and operations internationally.
LNG Canada has announced the planned transition of the role of CEO, LNG Canada from current CEO Andy Calitz to incoming CEO Peter Zebedee, effective July 1st, 2019. It is not unusual on large-scale energy projects for the CEO role to transition following a final investment decision.
